Akumal
Yoga, August , 2008 For 2008, we'll be staying at Playa Caribe on Half Moon Bay again. The exact dates have not yet been set. These condos are beautiful and very comfortable. Great for families or sharing with others to reduce the cost. For instance, a large 2 bedroom condo with a full kitchen (and living room area overlooking the ocean) can sleep 4 to 6, which makes the cost come to $30 to $45 a night per person (unit total price of $180 plus 12% tax per night). The Casita bungalows are studio apartment style with a separate kitchenette and bath. Casitas sleep four at a cost of $15 per person per night (unit total price of $60 plus 12% tax per night). Casitas face a patio area and a simple walk around the building takes you to the turtle haven, Half Moon Bay, and the pool. Add $72 if you plan to do yoga. Our final dates for the group trip are Aug 7 - 14. However, flights are on your own, so if you want or need some flexibility with the dates you can do so. We found that flights tend to be less expensive and travel is easier with a Tuesday to Tuesday itinerary. Larry and I will leave Indianapolis on a very early flight on Tuesday, Aug 7. So we'll probably be the first ones there and we can help others as needed. In case you want to look into joining us on our flight, it is on Continental Airlines, Flight 401, leaving Indianapolis at 6:05 AM (with a stop in Houston) and arriving on Flight 464 into Cancun at 11:25 AM. Yoga has become an internationally unifying practice as it has spread across cultures and continents during
the past half century. The non-competitive personal development of yoga practice allows one to join in this health edifying
journey for mind, body and spirit. No matter what shape you may be in, the practice meets you where you are and takes you
further along the journey. Carol’s classes will be attentive to all levels---entry through ongoing practice; introducing
or deepening the practice of vinyasa and ashtanga yoga. |

Our trip will coincide with the peak of sea turtle nesting in the soft sands of Akumal’s
Half Moon Bay and the birth of baby sea turtles. Snorkeling and an outstanding dive center provide other opportunities for
observing the turtles and the boundless beauty of the world’s 2nd largest barrier reef. A variety of charming
restaurants offering fresh cuisine are nestled in and along the bay. Mayan ruin
sites are nearby, a fascinating pre-Columbian civilization to explore and ponder as we practice yoga. Reverence for life,
ancient and ageless, is the essence of time spent in Akumal.
